Do I have to sign a lease?
At Belair Storage you rent your storage unit or RV/Boat storage space by the month. You pay only for the months you require the storage services. It can be short-term if, for example, you are selling your home and need to de-clutter your closets and spaces for staging, or a college student needing storage for a summer. It can be long-term for business storage or storing Jet Skis and the like. It's entirely up to you!
Why would I need a climate controlled storage unit?
Climate controlled storage units offer consistent temperature and humidity control along with filtered air to protect your electronics, fine furniture, artwork, antiques, books, clothing, etc., items that are easily damaged by heat and cold variations. If you have only a few of those items, along with others that are not easily damaged, we recommend renting a small climate controlled storage unit and another standard unit to save monthly rental costs.
Do you have moving carts to help move the heavy items, or do I need to bring my own?
Yes, we do offer moving carts for your convenience to make it quick and easy for you to move your belongings in and out of your storage unit. Just ask at the office when you arrive and one will be provided.
What if I need to access my storage unit when the office is closed?
No problem! You may access your storage unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.. You may enter the electronic security gates with your assigned PIN at any time.
What types of payment do you accept?
You may pay for your storage unit rental by check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express at the first of every month. You can also choose the convenient auto-pay option to directly pay from your debit or credit card to avoid forgetting and having late charges assessed.
Are there any additional fees?
There is a late fee of $10 per unit assessed on the 6th of the month, so be sure to pay your rent by the 5th to avoid the additional charge. If your check is returned, there is a $20 fee to cover our banking costs, along with the $10 late fee.
If you default on your rent, you are responsible for the following fees:
Certified letter fee: $20
Legal advertising fee: $30
Administration fee for auction: $50
Auction fee: $50
What type of identification do I need to provide?
We require a valid driver's license, state issued identification card, passport, or military ID.
How much notification do I need to provide before I move out?
We require 10 days written notice that you may send by mail or e-mail to avoid being charged for an additional month.
How do I know what size of unit I need?
Our trained, knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you determine the size of unit that will best serve your needs. The following guide will be helpful as well:
5' x 5' (25 sq. ft): Equivalent to the size of a regular closet. Appropriate for holding clothes, sports equipment, business records and product samples, boxes, small furniture, and electronics.
5' x 10' (50 sq. ft.): The size of a walk-in closet. It will hold a sofa and chairs, mattress and boxspring, boxes, and other small items.
10' x 10' (100 sq. ft.): This is about the size of half of a single car garage. It will hold furniture and major appliances for a one bedroom apartment.
10' x 15' (150 sq. ft.): Equivalent to about two-thirds of a single car garage. It will hold furnishings, major appliances, and boxes for a two bedroom home.
10' x 20' (200 sq. ft.): Equals the space of a standard single car garage. It will hold furnishings, major appliances, boxes, and other items for a three bedroom home. Also ideal for business inventory and storage.
10' x 30' (300 sq. ft): The size of a two car garage to store furniture and major appliances for a four or five bedroom home or a small RV or boat.
